Location

Narromine is Australia's gliding capital and pilots from all over the world come to enjoy wonderful conditions for gliding. Flights can be arranged for as little as $155.00. The excellent Aviation Museum has a full scale working model of the Wright Brothers aircraft. The Macquarie River flows through Narromine, suitable for canoeing and boating, with a picnic area and children's playground.  There are also beautiful sporting ovals and the statue of Glen McGrath, our own home grown Captain of the Australian Cricket Team. The 18 hole golf course, squash courts, tennis courts  and river boat ramp are all within walking distance of The Abbey.

Narromine's Iris Farm attracts many tourists who have a horticultural leaning and the beautiful rose gardens and avenue make Narromine's main street beautiful all year round.

For those interested in enjoying our farm land, there are farm access tours with the 'Regional Platters' promotion of local agriculture.Narromine is only 30 minutes from Dubbo's Western Plains Zoo, the Old Dubbo Gaol and many other tourist attractions, 40 mins to the open cut gold mine at Peak Hill, and 1 hour to The DISH  radio telescope (north of Parkes). Finally, it is strategically placed at almost the centre of NSW, Narromine is an ideal stopping place for those travelling East-West, or North-South. A stay at The Abbey Bed & Breakfast has been a delightful historic part of the holiday of all our guests, and so much more than just a place to stay overnight.
